On Monday’s interview “Wanna Be A Producer?” with Hanna Feng from Da Ai TV in Taiwan, she shared her expectation to her teammates. Besides the accuracy of data, she wants them to take charge of and be responsible for their works. So that what presented in front of the audience is positive, encouraging, and useful. And that the audience gains something from each episode.
In the modern society it is dog eat dog. We sometimes got disorientated for various reasons, such as demands from the management, or competitions among colleagues and businesses. When it happens, we tend to drift along and gradually lost ourselves. We act as others who only talk about being successful, fame, or financial achievement. There is nothing wrong to be successful and financially secured. What we need to remember is we are not here only for those, or waste our lives away doing nothing else.
Here are two cute cards I found at a seminar to share with you.
1. Stay alert. Encourage yourself daily. Do NOT be superficial.
Keep your mind and heart clear at all times. Don’t be buried under all sorts of desires. Pad yourself on the back every day for you’d done right and continue on the correct direction. Do NOT turn your back from DAO. A superficial attitude might fool others for a short time but it will fool no one including yourself after a while.
After years of doing politics news and commercial channels, Ms. Feng moved onto Da Ai TV, a non-profit TV station. She encourages her teammates to challenge themselves with different topics. Her take is that as long as one is willing to try, research the subjects, and find the right angle, all topics are with potentials. Since the show is only 24, every second counts. She asks the writers to spend the time well on sharing the key messages. Although the rating is important, it’s not above everything. Should one want to have achievement and be somebody in the field, put the heart out. It is not only a paid job but also a career requires conscience.
2. Maintain mindfulness. You’ll have the strength to overcome any difficulty.
With your heart secured, direction correct, and continue encouraging yourself, even during difficult times, you are still able to persist and not change the course. No matter it is at work, at home, at school, or in a social setting, you will find the courage and means to overcome obstacles in life. That is how to live DAO in life.
