We are all Dao cultivators. Though not yet in an advanced stage as enlightened monks or sages, we are at least like those young monks. Don’t young monks chant or recite sutras everyday? Do you put any thoughts into what you chant? Or is that chanting simply a chore? Young monks, make yourselves angels of the era. Calm your inner selves. Suppress obscuring hindrances. Stop any fantasy, and negative or improper thoughts from growing.

The world we live in is already full of all kinds of noise. If we don’t nip obscuring hindrances in the bud, there would be truly no quietness to be found.

Hence, in order to reach the world of Da-Tong (world peace), we must build a miniature of Da-Tong. All right then, where should we start to establish this miniature?

From each and every one of us.

First find a small peaceful world inside ourselves. Block the turbulence of the outside world from disturbing us. Then gradually, we can each use our peaceful strength to make a difference in the outside world.

Keep a compassionate and giving heart. Create a trend of goodness. We’ll then be able to reduce possibility of wars from erupting and damage from disasters.
