In the United States, the tuition and fees for the higher education is HIGH. If you’re not financially well off but planning to be an undergraduate or graduate student, what can you do? Director of the Financial Aid office from UWest shares some basic but important tips: how to apply for financial aids and/or scholarships in the States.

Where To Find Information You Need

  1. The website of the university you’re interested in
  2. If any financial aid and/or scholarship is available, it is usually listed. Look carefully.
  3. Do NOT miss the deadline.
  4. Make sure if you are qualified. If yes, fulfill the requirements.
  5. Search engines online for third party scholarships

Domestic Students

  1. Financial Aids: Federal Aid programs (FAFSA), state financial aid programs
  2. Student loans: Federal government or private
  3. Scholarships offered by university/college
  4. Scholarships from the 3rd Parties

International Students

  1. Scholarships from School
  2. Scholarships from the 3rd Parties

Scholarships Offered By UWest

  1. Scholarships, fellowships, 3rd party scholarships
  2. Requirement: GPA from high school and/or college
  3. Requirement: Demonstration of financial needs
