In The Art of Arranging Flowers
Arranging flowers is like living a life. The materials that are distributed to our hands can range from the top quality to the worst. What we can do is find a suitable way to make the best out of what we have got. And that is life.
A bush that is too flourishing is not necessary a good thing when the nourishment is limited. With the theme in mind, identify the feature of the materials and trim off unnecessary twigs. By giving up something we’re not willing to part with, we gain a better result in return.
With originality, time, and effort, we can put the trimmed off materials in good use and create something that is unique in its own way. It’s up to us, the teacher or the parents, to help the materials, aka our students or children, show what they’ve got to share with the world.
Are we in a stormy mood, a high spirit, or uncertain of something? There is no need to hind because our flower arrangements will tell.
If we know what we’re doing, we find Dao in our daily living all the time. It’s not a surprise to anyone who has the flower arranging as a hobby to know the secret.
Family Education & Wisdom Words
Ms. Lin asked not much of her children except that they have good manners and show respect to others. To her, these are the basic of family education and much more important than outstanding grades and good looks.

The power of the wisdom words, however, accompanies the children all the way to their adulthood. By then, they’ve comprehended some the meanings and applied them daily.
